AND MY HEART WANTS TO GRIEVE TOO

AND MY HEART WANTS TO GRIEVE TOO

Undying love formed this figure a lady in grieve for her knight
Fists clenched pushing away reality hooded head bent in
Disbelief
Body covered in sackcloth unable and unwilling to
Accept the truth
And my heart wants to grieve too
I can see her face stained with tears I can feel the
Emptiness of her burden as she calls to her beloved knight
Gone ahead
And my heart wants to grieve too
Her stooped shoulders hunched against his absence
Her bent knees pushing down as she prays aloud
“Not yet” she cries
“I won’t let him go “
And my heart wants to grieve too.
