SEA SONG

Sea Song

The woman walked along the beach.
Looking for the answer lying out of reach.
She knew the stones she knew the shells
She knew the sea and the stories it tells

When she was a girl she could understand
The rhythmical voice of the sunken land
She could still hear the whispers of the ebbing tide
But no longer could master the secrets they hide

What was the answer why should this be
That the secrets be held by the greedy sea
With old age approaching and all youth now gone
Could this be the answer for the seas lack of song
